I know I’m late, but two days ago I met Austin Carlile. Earlier that day my friend and I had gone to an Of Mice & Men signing where we gave the Entire band gifts. We got down to Austin and handed him the boxers that he always asks for. He was so excited, so he grabbed a piece of paper out of the notebook that I was holding and wrote down to come meet him at the Aspire and Create tent later that day. After he handed it to me, I handed back a letter explaining how Of Mice & Men’s music had helped me through a lot of the things that were going on in my life, including self harm issues and anxiety. It thanked Austin for being such an inspiring person and how much I respect him. Later that day we got to the tent and were waiting in line, after about 40 minutes it was our turn. He looked up, smiled, and said “You were at the signing earlier!” and gave me a hug. We talked for a few seconds and I asked him if he could write me a note that could make me feel better, and then I got choked up. He looked up, glanced at my more noticeable self harm scars, smiled and began writing the note. When I saw what he was writing the tears started coming. When he was done he hugged me and whispered that he loved me, as I was still trying to hold back some of my tears. After that we took a few pictures, then he grabbed my camera and took a few more. He hugged me again and then my friend got all of her stuff signed and took her pictures. He hugged us both and we walked away, then I realized that I forgot to give him the bracelet that I made. When the girl next in line was done talking to him I apologized and walked back up. I handed the bracelet to him and told him that I forgot to give it to him earlier. He looked at it, then looked at me and said “You are so cute, give me another hug.” So I did. I know that there are so many stories floating around like this, but this man helped me through so much, and getting to meet him was an honor, so I felt like I needed to share mine. <3

this is so fucking beautiful

I want to meet Austin sooo bad
